The College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences is excited to support current graduate students’ research endeavors by providing limited funding for them to present/share their work with the greater scientific community through the attendance of nationally or internationally recognized academic conferences. All current graduate students (Masters’ and PhD level) are welcome to apply. Funding decisions will be made based on the following criteria:
Priority will be given to those students presenting keynote, oral, and poster presentations (in that order).
- Priority will also be given to those students furthest along in their program with PhD students’ receiving priority over Masters’ students after criteria in #1 above are followed.
- Further consideration will be given as to whether other funding sources exist to support the students travel (e.g., grants, fellowships, travel awards from other entities).
- Additional criteria that may be considered in the situation that funding is limited may include previous funding of travel awards by the department, background of student, merit of the society/association hosting the conference, other attempts to secure funding and input from the mentor on the nature of the conference.
All travel awards are for $500, all other expenses are the responsibility of the student. Please refer to reimbursement information on the department website prior to purchasing travel related items (tickets, hotels, etc. )
